Jodi Powers' skill set is exceptional and talents immeasurable!
As a national marketing|communications|public relations manager for one of the nation's largest architectural/engineering firms, Jodi worked with the firm's leadership in 15 national offices to develop and execute the firm's communication efforts, including marketing, promotion, public relations, media relations, and public information for each of the firm's programmatic areas (education, justice, corporate and sports). She developed campaigns and prepared materials that ensured a consistent voice for internal and external communications and that also met the firm’s brand messaging and objectives. As an employee/owner of the firm for 18 years, Jodi was an advocate for the firm and responded to numerous requests for information about the organization, its history and activities.
Jodi's key responsibility was to promote the multiple activities of the firm's four major forums: education, justice, corporate and sports and entertainment design. Jodi also supported the professional accomplishments of the forum members and other firm leaders. Responsibilities ranged from collecting and disseminating information through newsletters, e-newsletters, the firm web site, collateral material, securing articles in major national trade publications and securing national speaking opportunities for the firm's design leaders.
Prior to working with DLR Group, Jodi worked as a litigation paralegal for two AV-rated law firms. Jodi received a significant legal education through various responsibilities associated with the discovery and trial processes. Jodi's journalism degree and previous newspaper writing and editing experience prepared her well for community outreach and interaction, and the many client interviews, voluminous research memos and legal documents she wrote during those years.
Over the past six years she has had the opportunity to work closely with a range of cultural and nonprofit agencies, including the Arizona Community Tree Council, the Phoenix Women's Sports Association, the Arizona Latin@ Arts and Cultural Center, The FUSION Foundation and One Planet magazine to enhance their communications and public relations efforts. As a result, she understands the importance of relationship marketing, collateral development, and messaging to build and grow an organization's base.
